‘Cars causing rush will be impounded’

Director General of Airport Security Major General Khalid Al-Saqabi affirmed that his sector is well prepared to receive pilgrims returning from the holy land after performing the rites of the pilgrimage.

He also said the sector is set to receive people returning from Eid Al-Adha holiday irrespective Kuwait International Airport is exceptionally congested with travelers.In a press statement, Major General Al-Saqabi said the concerned officials have been doubling efforts to expedite procedures for the departing and incoming passengers, while those in charge of the crowd receiving or bidding farewell to passengers in the airport have been doing their job appropriately.

He stated the action is in line with instructions from the Minister of Interior and acting Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khalid Al-Sabah and his Undersecretary Lt General Suleiman Al-Fahad. He noted all concerned security agencies have been coordinating well with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation and General Customs Department to provide necessary comfort to pilgrims and incoming passengers. He urged the public to cooperate with traffic officers to avoid traffic jam in front of the departure and arrival halls.

He noted the airport has three different car parks for the public, traffic patrol cars, and air cargo to ensure the comfort of passengers. He warned motorists against parking in prohibited areas, as it will lead to impounding of their vehicles.
