‘Illegal activities will harm unity’
March 16, 2014, 9:41 am

Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Mubarak Al- Khurainij says political parties exist in Kuwait but they practice their activities illegally, so announcing these parties will harm the national unity, reports Al-Jaridah daily.

While indicating that some ministers spoil the cooperation between the two authorities, he said the threats by some lawmakers to submit grilling requests against certain ministers are unjustified and not in line with the spirit of cooperation.

He stressed that aggravating the situation against the Government for personal interests is unacceptable. He insisted that the Government should be given time to be assessed, and constitutional tools should be used for genuine reasons because the Kuwaiti nation is waiting for achievements, solutions to the pending cases, and development of the country.

MP Al-Khurainij said the suspension and cancellation of grilling requests is a parliamentary right that is in line with the Constitution and related bylaws. He lamented that the Government’s performance is based on reactions, and not on specific visions or procedures that would convince the citizens about the dedication of the governmental management.

He stressed that the Government cannot give excuses for delaying the completion of projects or suspending them, particularly since the parliamentary majority cooperates positively with the Government for realizing such achievements for the citizens.

MP Al-Khurainij insisted that the GCC Security Pact must not violate the Kuwaiti Constitution, and the government must explain the details of the pact to the media.
