The entire country’s electricity consumption rate almost reached the critical level on Wednesday with a record of 12,130 megawatts, reports Al-Rai daily quoting sources.

On the other hand, sources revealed the Water Maintenance and Operation Department continues to pump huge quantities of water into the network to meet the needs of consumers during Ramadan, indicating the consumption rate reached 434 million gallons on Friday.

In another development, sources said Minister of Public Works, Electricity and Water Abdul Aziz Al-Ibrahim has instructed the assistant undersecretaries to provide him with data and statistical reports on the most important projects which have been implemented. Sources explained this is in preparation for the minister’s presentation in a press conference slated for next week.
