‘Royal’ jailed for posing as probe officer, checking IDs

The Misdemeanor Court sentenced a ruling family member to oneyear imprisonment with hard labor for impersonating as an investigation officer and holding a security checkpoint in an area in Capital Governorate.According to the case file, Faiha Police Station had received a report from the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior by a patrol officer who said a man was impersonating as a security officer at a fake security checkpoint in the area.

Securitymen rushed to the location and arrested the suspect whose vehicle had a flasher, a baton and a gun as well as a bottle of suspicious liquid. However, tests revealed that he was not drunk or drugged. He was referred to the Public Prosecution for necessary legal action against him.
