September 1, 2014, 8:41 am

A Kuwaiti man, identified only as M.H. has been abducted while in Lebanon, reports Al-Anba daily quoting Lebanese security sources.

The daily quoting the same sources said the 37-year-old man arrived in Lebanon 10 days ago and he was abducted when he went to meet his friend in Baalbek. Following his abduction, an unknown person called and demanded $1 million ransom for his release.

The Al-Rai daily said the Lebanese security sources believe the abduction is related to drugs. Meanwhile, the Al-Qabas daily identified the man as Misfer Al-Hajri. The daily also said the Lebanese authorities are negotiating with the abductors and that the negotiations have led to cutting down the ransom money into half.
