Investigations are ongoing to identify a person who stabbed a man to death in Omariya on Monday afternoon. Paramedics and police rushed to the scene after receiving an emergency call reporting that a man was bleeding in front of a house in the area. They discovered by the time they arrived that the man had already succumbed to multiple stab wounds. The victim was identified as a 56-year-old Indian who worked at the Ministry of Electricity and Water. Crime scene investigators took the body to the forensic department after they examined the scene. A homicide investigation was opened.

In another case, an investigation was opened to determine the mystery behind the death of a man who fell from a seventh floor apartment in Salmiya Monday. A homicide case was filed after preliminary investigations revealed that the Sri Lankan man did not live in the apartment he fell from, and that the flat was rented by two compatriots who could be his friends. The two men could not be found at the apartment when police arrived, fueling speculation that they were involved in the case.
