Municipality inspectors discovered 18 tons of rice, corn, olives, pickles, ghee and Indian ready made meals, all past their use-by date.

According to Kuwait Times daily, the unhygienic food was found in one of the food stores in Sulaibia.

Director of imported food stuff items Eng. Istiqlal Al- Meslem said that the municipality inspectors discovered this food stuff in Sulaibia during an inspection campaign. She pointed out that laborers in the store emptied the bags of rice which proved that these were past their expiry date.

The laborers had heaped the rice on a carpet on the ground and were repacking the same in new bags that carried a still valid date, daily added.
