Around 2,800 telephone lines in Shuwaikh Industrial Area have stopped functioning since Thursday due to the ground cable damage caused by the ongoing construction works to develop Jamal Abdul Nasser Road, reports Al-Rai daily.

Customer Service Supervisor at Keifan Switchboard Saleh Al- Harbash said the technical team in the Installation and Complaints Section has informed the concerned subscribers regarding the problem and assured them that the telephone service will resume by Monday afternoon or Tuesday at the latest.

He affirmed the contractor in charge of the project has started taking steps to replace the damaged cable, indicating about 800 lines are now functioning and work on the remaining lines will be completed within two days.
