23 Nabbed, 8 Cars Impounded, Citations Issued In Traffic Raid

Ahmadi securitymen launched a traffic campaign on Wednesday before Iftar during which they arrested 23 individuals, seized eight vehicles and issued 55 traffic citations. According to security sources, when Ahmadi Security Director Major General Ayed Al-Otaibi received several complaints from Kuwaiti citizens and expatriates about a group of youths driving recklessly and aimlessly on the Coast Road before Iftar, he formed a team of securitymen for investigations.
They launched a campaign on Coast Road where they seized eight vehicles that were being used for reckless driving. They also arrested 23 individuals among whom 20 did not have their identification documents, one expatriate had violated the residency law while a Kuwaiti citizen for escaping from a sentence that was issued against him on a case of non-payment of KD 19,000 debt and a GCC national in possession of sharp objects. The arrested individuals were referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against them. Sources added that Ahmadi securitymen will continue such sudden campaigns before and after Iftar to arrest the violators of traffic rules and law.
