3,000 firms under probe for selling visas to expatriates
September 19, 2014, 9:08 am

About 3,000 files of dummy private companies have been referred to the Public Prosecution and the Criminal Investigation Department in the Ministry of Interior, reports Al- Jarida daily quoting sources close to the Public Authority for Manpower.

Sources explained these files are among 5,000 files of companies suspended for involvement in human trafficking, in addition to violation of Private Sector Labor Law number 6/2010 and related ministerial decisions.

After reviewing these files, the concerned authority discovered the companies did not update their data or change any information. Records of these companies in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry did not include addresses which would have enabled the relevant authority to conduct inspections, sources revealed.
