Around 12.5 percent of Kuwait’s residents cannot leave the country due to a travel ban issued by authorities for multiple reasons including unpaid dues, a parliament member said in a recent press statement. “The number of people facing travel bans which has reached 500,000 Kuwaitis and expatriates is a very serious issue that requires action to help debtors who struggle to pay the cumulative interests on their debts,” MP Jamal Al- Omar told Al-Rai, who published his statement yesterday.
