6,653 expatriates detained in various police stations ‘pending’ deportation

The weekly Statistics of the General Security and Traffic Departments revealed that 6,653 expatriates were arrested and detained in police stations across all six governorates pending their deportation, while the sector registered 37,357 traffic violations, impounded 1,475 cars, and executed 31 humanitarian services.

According to the General Security Department, security campaigns conducted in the course of last week resulted in arrest of 2,593 individuals in the Farwaniya Governorate, 1,384 in Ahmadi, 948 in Hawalli, 904 in Jahra, 372 in the Capital, and 116 in Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate.

Meanwhile, the weekly statistics provided by General Traffic Department shows the department recorded 6023 traffic violations in the Capital Governorate, 5,153 in Hawalli, 4,790 in Ahmadi, 2,032 in Mubarak Al-Kabeer, and 641 violations in Jahra Governorate, while the Department of Control and Inspection recorded 1956 violations and impounded 179 vehicles.
