The National Assembly is still intact and will not be dissolved; however, it seems that members of the cabinet will not be attending the next parliamentary session, said Speaker of the National Assembly Marzouq Al-Ghanim Wednesday.

Speaking to the press after meeting with His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Al-Ghanim said that there was no dissolving of parliament as far as he was concerned.

He added that "I think that the cabinet will not attend the upcoming session of parliament and it might resign, but until an official announcement is made things will continue on as usual."

In regards to interpellation motions submitted by MPs, Al-Ghanim said that the constitution guaranteed parliament the right to question the government. He affirmed that National Assembly members were up to the task of maintaining stability in the country, adding that it was paramount of parliament to discuss its views with the highest authority in the land and that would be His Highness the Amir.

Late Tuesday, Speaker Al-Ghanim announced that ten MPs have submitted a vote of no confidence against Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and Acting Minister of Information Mohammad Al-Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah.
