All licenses issued remain valid
April 23, 2015, 8:19 am

Director-General of Public Relations and Moral Guidance at the Ministry of Interior Brigadier Adel Al-Hashash has denied ‘rumors’ that the ministry plans to withdraw the valid driving licenses which were issued before the Ministerial Decree was issued making KD 600 salary mandatory and two years residence to acquire the driving licence, reports a local daily. Al-Hashash affirmed all driving licenses which were issued prior to the decree was issued for all professions are valid exception be it an ordinary worker, a tailor, grocer until the expiry of the licence.

These licences are subject to renewal for one year provided the profession is not changed. Al-Hashash added driving licenses are however considered expired under certain cases and renewed only for one year such as in case of loss or damage in spite of their validity for more than one year but these licences will not be withdrawn provided the licence was issued prior to the issuance of the ministerial decision.
