Assistant Undersecretary for Cultural Affairs in the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Dawud Al-Asuusi has affirmed that the ministry, through its Cultural Affairs Sector, has completed preparations to welcome worshippers in the last 10 nights of the Holy Month of Ramadan at the Grand Mosque (Masjid Al-Kabeer), where committees and teams have been formed to operate as one.

In a press statement, Al-Asuusi stressed the ministry is working in accordance with its strategy, which was set up in partnership with other ministries, official and private bodies, to organize the ‘qiyam’ (prayers performed at night) during Ramadan.

He added the ministry has coordinated with several bodies, such as the ministries of Interior, Information, Health, Public Works and Municipality, as well as the Civil Defense Authority, Medical Emergency Unit, Public Authority for Youth and Sports and several private institutions to ensure comfort of the worshippers in the last 10 nights of Ramadan.

He confirmed the aforementioned bodies shall provide various services such that the Interior Ministry is in charge of controlling traffic around the mosque and providing security, whereas the Medical Emergency Unit will deal with health related cases and Kuwait Red Crescent Society will play a huge role in serving those in need.
