Almost 13,000 unemployed Kuwaiti citizens apply for jobs

Civil Service Commission (CSC) has revealed that 12,882 unemployed citizens of both genders with different qualifications and varied specializations have registered in the central 'recruitment system, reports Al-Rai daily.

Among these citizens, 2,224 are holders of university degrees and above, 2,084 completed diploma and two-year certification courses following high school, 152 completed high school followed by one-year certification course and 8,422 completed high school. Chairman of CSC Abdulaziz Al-Zebin has requested Undersecretary of Ministry of Education Haitham Al-Atari to specify the labor needs of the ministry and the required specializations for the year 2015/2016.

Revealing that all citizens registered in the recruitment system have not yet received employment, he elaborated that there are 454 engineering graduates, 303 graduates from Faculty of Law and 124 graduates from Faculty of Political Sciences.

In addition, there are 282 holders of business diploma, 475 holders of diploma in Data Management and 350 holders of diploma in Marketing and Management diploma along with others of varied specializations.

Al-Zebin indicated that Ministry of Higher Education has requested CSC to specify the country's need for specializations required for the new proposed public university based on the Cabinet's decision to establish new public universities.

From this context, he asked Al-Atari to necessarily specify the needs of Minsitry of Education for the next 25 years in fields such as human sciences, technology  and professional specializations.
