June 22, 2015, 11:45 am

Ambassador of Sierra Leone to Kuwait His Excellency Ibrahim Baker Kamara has rubbished the news report circulating on the social media about his involvement in helping teenage Sierra Leone girls escape the country for sex trade in Kuwait, reports Al-Rai daily.

He was critical of such news reports which soil his image and the good name of Kuwait. The Ambassador condemned in strong terms those who are behind spreading such rumors and baseless and misleading reports.

He went on to say such reports will not only have a direct effect in his capacity as his country’s ambassador to Kuwait but will also put dent in bilateral relations between two countries.

Commenting on the report that a woman identified as Mariya Essata Marah is in police custody for further interrogation on charges of helping young Sierra Leone women escape the country for sex trade in Kuwait and alleging that he is involved in the scam, he said, such a name is unknown in Kuwait and an incident of such kind has never happened.
