Artist Hussein Jassem passes away at age 73

A few days after bidding farewell to renowned Kuwaiti actor Abdulhussein Abdulredha, Kuwait suffered another loss within the arts and cultural domains with the passing away of Singer Hussein Jassem at age 73. Jassem, born in 1944, was famous for his songs covering various themes during the 1970s and 1980s.

He began his career in 1967 as a music teacher and gradually climbed the educational ladder to become the headmaster of several Kuwaiti public schools between 1994 and 2002. In 1974, Jassem retired from his artistic career, but return in 1991 to deliver songs celebrating the liberation of Kuwait from the Iraqi invasion.
