Beggar nabbed for trying to bribe officer with KD 5000

A beggar was arrested for trying to bribe a policeman in Farwaniya as he offered the officer KD 5,000 to release him, reports Al-Shahed daily. The officer caught the beggar in the act of begging, so he was surprised when the latter offered him such a huge sum for his freedom. The beggar was referred to the relevant authority for necessary action.

7 expats arrested for gambling, consuming alcohol

Seven Asian expatriates including four women were arrested for gambling, consuming alcohol and engaging in immoral activities inside an apartment near Fahad Al-Salem Street. According to security sources, when Capital securitymen received information from a reliable source about some illegal activities occurring in the apartment near Fahad Al- Salem Street, investigations were carried out and the seven suspects were arrested. Securitymen also confiscated liquor bottles and large sums of money from the location.

The suspects were referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal measures. Meanwhile, Capital securitymen also arrested an Egyptian expatriate as he was wanted by law for a criminal case for which he was issued a sentence of ten-year imprisonment. Securitymen arrested him while he was wandering in Mubarakiya Market and referred him to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against him.

Indian wanted for stealing KD 85,000

An Indian expatriate is wanted for stealing KD 85,000 from money transportation vehicle, reports Al-Anba daily. A security source said an Egyptian man called the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry saying his colleague, guard and driver of the vehicle escaped with money they collected on behalf of the company they are working for. Police have since launched an extensive search and found the vehicle abandoned at a location in Jahra Industrial area, without the money.
