May 2, 2015, 11:19 am

The Undersecretary for Operations Affairs at the Ministry of Interior Major-General Jamal Al-Sayegh has referred five people – one Indian and four Iranians – to preliminary investigations in connection with forming a gang to steal state property such as copper cables and deliberately damaging power transformers, reports a local daily. During interrogations the suspects are said to have admitted to stealing copper cables across Kuwait worth KD 100,000. When police raided their ‘hideout’ they found copper cables and KD 5,000 in cash believed to be proceeds from the sale of stolen copper cables. The daily added, when the driver of the truck was asked to stop, he attempted to escape.
