Co-ops prices might shoot up

There are indications the prices of commodities, particularly fruit and vegetable sold in cooperative societies will shoot up as Ramadan is fast approaching, reports a local daily.

The daily quoting reliable sources noted the cooperative societies exaggerate prices without considering the suffering of Kuwaiti citizens and expatriates. They explained the prices of commodities have attained 90-110 percent raise this year compared with the same period last year.

They observed that lack of monitoring by the union of cooperative societies plays a part in the skyrocketing prices of commodities by some merchants.
