Court acquits fireworks seller after forgiveness
November 5, 2015, 8:33 am

The Misdemeanor Court presided over by Judge Walid Al- Kandari nullified a one-month jail term with hard labor issued against a fireworks seller, after accepting forgiveness from the plaintiff to acquit the defendant.

The plaintiff had filed a case against the defendant accusing the latter and another individual of physically attacking him when he bought some fireworks from them. They mistook him for another customer who owed money to them and attacked him.

The plaintiff sustained injuries and required 20 days of treatment for complete recovery. The defense counsel Attorney Mohammad Al-Husseini countered the previous judgment, stressing that it was a misapplication of law.
