Customs confiscate large amount of narcotics

The General Administration of Customs announced Tuesday the seizure of a large quantity of narcotic substances at Al-Abdaly border crossing coming from Iraq, containing around 108.5 kilograms of hashish and more than 100,000 narcotic pills. “There has been an increase in activity by drug traffickers to smuggle large and destructive substances to the country through various means and in various ways,” Customs’ Director General Khaled Al-Saif said. Al-Saif said that “customs officers will be vigilent for any smuggling operation to protect the nation from everything that would adversely affect our society,” praising customs officials for their response to this current ongoing activities.
