Customs foils bid to smuggle 3m drug pills worth KD 6 mln

Officers from the Air Cargo Unit in the General Customs Department , in coordination with the Drug Control General Department at the Interior Ministry, recently foiled the attempt of a Syrian to smuggle three million narcotic pills worth K D6 million into the country, reports local media.

Acting on a tip-off, the officers thoroughly inspected a cargo containing a big oven from Lebanon and this led to the discovery of the large quantity of narcotic pills. The suspect and the confiscated items were referred to the concerned security department for the necessary legal action.
