A delegation from the Federation of Indian Muslim Associations (FIMA) met with the new Governor of Farwaniya, Sheikh Faisal Homoud Malik Al Sabah, at the governorate on Thursday, 19 June 2014.

The delegation, headed by FIMA President, Siddeeque Valiyakath, included  Salim Desai, FIMA Treasurer and Mohammed Manshauddin, FIMA Joint Treasurer.

At the meeting, the governor expressed his highest regards for the Indian community in Kuwait, saying they make the largest expatriate group in the country. Further, he noted that he is aware of the problems of the community and that he will work to resolve those issues.  The safety, security and the welfare of the citizens and the residents are his top priority, he added.

Lending some perspective to larger bilateral ties, Sheikh Faisal said he is happy to see the centuries-old relationship between Kuwait and India growing. He praised the Indian community for serving Kuwait and making valuable contributions for the development of the state.

The governor accepted the delegation’s invitation to FIMA Iftar and assured his support and cooperation to FIMA.
