Five newly elected lawmakers take constitutional oath

The second regular session of the 14th legislative term of the National Assembly.

 The five newly voted in Kuwaiti lawmakers took the oath during the second regular session of the 14th legislative term of the National Assembly on Monday.

Ahmad Al-Quthaibi, Ahmad Lari, Abdullah Al-Matouf, Faris Al-Otaibi and Mohammad Al-Rashidi were sworn-in to the 50-member parliament after earlier winning local by-elections for three constituencies.

They will effectively commence their their tasks and duties after their by-election triumph accross three Kuwaiti constituencies (regions) on Thursday, June 26.

The seats were made vacant after Riyadh Al-Adsani, Ali Al-Rashed, Abdulkareem Al-Kandari, Hussain Quwaian Al-Mutairi and female lawmaker Safa Al-Hashem's resignations were accepted on May 15.
