The GCC e-Government Ministerial Committee launched Tuesday the e-Government Portal at its fourth meeting held in Doha and chaired by Qatar's Minister of Information and Communications Technology Dr. Hessa Al Jaber.

GCC Ministers of Communications and Information Technology and the GCC Secretary-General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani attended the event. Addressing the meeting, Dr. Hessa Al-Jaber said that the GCC strategy document indicative of e-government has resulted in a number of joint initiatives and projects that aim at promoting the desired GCC cooperation and integration in this vital area in order to achieve the welfare of the citizens of the GCC countries.

She noted that the fruit of this cooperation is the launch of the GCC e-Government Portal inauguration of the e-Security Network. On his part, Al-Zayani said that the committee had achieved several milestones since its inception four years ago. He hoped that the launching of the e-Government Portal and e-Security Network would improve government services in the GCC region.
