Gold Medal awarded to inventions conceptualized by KISR scientists

The two recent scientific inventions on a new type of wave barriers (Floating breakwater and the slotted vertical barriers) lead by Dr. S. Neelamani, Senior Research Scientist in the Coastal Management Program, Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) and his colleagues was exhibited in the 45th International Exhibition of Inventions, Geneva, Switzerland held from 29 March to 2 April, 2017. 

This is the world’s most important exhibition organized under the patronage of the Swiss Federal Government, of the State, the City of Geneva and the World Intellectual Property Organization WIPO. There were about 750 inventions from 40 countries and from a wide spectrum of scientific areas, displayed in this exhibition. This exhibition attracted about 57,000 visitors from five continents, about 650 journalist, radio and TV reporters from 30 countries. Both the inventions of Dr. S. Neelamani and team were awarded with a Gold medal by the International Jury. 

The inventions of Dr. S. Neelamani and his colleagues were displayed in the exhibition by the students and teachers of Hamad Essa Al-Rejaib School, Kuwait, who were trained to understand the scientific, environmental and financial aspects of the invention.  Dr. S. Neelamani thanks everyone, who has directly and indirectly contributed in the journey of this scientific invention.
