Indian Embassy spends over KD25,000 on welfare of distressed Indians

A press release from the Indian Embassy states that in 2016, a total of KD25,024 was spent from the Indian Community Welfare Fund (ICWF) on helping distressed Indians in Kuwait. This amount included air-tickets worth KD11,327 spent on repatriating 154 workers back to India, and KD2,723 spent on air-lifting 14 handicapped patients. In addition, a little over KD5,500 was disbursed as aid for those financially challenged to help them return home. The embassy press release also clarified that KD5,456 was spent on transporting the mortal remains of 40 deceased Indians back to their families in India.
