Interior Ministry announces road closures ahead of Arab summit

The Interior Ministry announced on Wednesday that a number of roads would be closed as of next Saturday ahead of the upcoming Arab summit.

The security media department said in a statement that the partial closure would start at 8:45 a.m. on Saturday as a traffic rehersal prior to the arrival of heads of the delegations.

The department added that King Faisal highway would be closed from the airport to Sheikh Zayed intersection.

It added that the main King Faisal highway coming from Kuwait city after Yarmouk will be closed and will be diverted to Sheikh Zayed ring road as an alternative road for those heading to Jahra and Salmiyah.

It added that Ibrahim Al-Mazyen road would be closed completely starting from Khaitan Club bridge till Al-Aqsa intersection with Khaled bin Al-Walid road, in addition to Sabhan intersection with the seventh ring road till Sabhan road intersection with King Faisal highway in both directions.

It said that those wishing to reach the airport have to take the airport road heading towards the sixth ring road to the right till the air cargo terminal and then to the airport or via Al-Ghazali road till the air cargo.

The statement pointed out that for those wishing to reach the airport via Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah airport road have to take Sabhan bridge road (208) via King Fahd ringroad.
