KOC denies reports of offshore oil discoveries

Kuwait on Company (KOC) Monday denied as "false" a report by a local newspaper that Kuwait has made offshore oil discoveries.

Offshore explorations their initial stages following completion of Three Dimensional Survey, said Saad Al-Azmi, KOC Deputy  CEO for Administration and Finance.

KOC has already announced 3-D Seismic Survey in Kuwait Bay, operations that are ongoing, Al-Azmi, also KOC spokesman, told KUNA.

He said KOC did not carry out new offshore drilling, but the offshore exploration drilling would start in 2017.

Al-Anbaa daily quoted oil sources as saying there were around 14 billion barrels of crude oil offshore.
