Kuwait asserts importance of Arab Youth, Sports Ministers' decisions

Kuwait asserted importance Monday of decisions approved by members of the Executive Office of the Arab Youth and Sports Ministerial Council, saying they would bolster youth and sports work.

The council also named Bahrain's capital, Manama, as the Arab Youth capital for the year 2015, Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Al-Sabah said in a statement to KUNA following the Council's meetings.

The council also renewed term of members of the executive office for four years, Sheikh Salman added. The minister noted that Kuwait also won two seats in the financial and youth committees of the executive office.

The council also approved a final statement of the Arab Fund to backing the Arab youth and sport the year 2013. The council affirmed as well on Arab solidarity with Palestinian athletes and their efforts to attain complete sport rights, Sheikh Salman said.

The council also agreed to support sport and youth activities in Somalia and Djibouti, including relieving Djibouti debts. Sheikh Salman noted that the council agreed to hold the next Arab Games 2015 in the Kingdom of Morocco.
