Kuwait is safe, future is bright - His Highness the Amir

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah AI-Ahmad Al-Jaber AI-Sabah said in a statement published on Thursday that the local and international developments will not affect the security of Kuwait, adding that the future seems bright for the country.

According to the local Al-Qabas newspaper, His Highness the Amir said the local developments are not worrying, stressing that "Kuwait is still the nation of security and peace".

His Highness also touched on welfare in Kuwait, noting that the government spends billions to ensure that necessities are available for every individual in the country.

"Several development projects such as the Jaber hospital, the opera house, and other cultural centers are near completion," said His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah, adding that the housing and transportation issues were among the chief topics that the government was addressing successfully, noting its bids to find solutions to these issues.

As for Kuwait's regional position, His Highness Sheikh Sabah affirmed that Kuwait was a peaceful nation that did not hold any aggressive views against any nation in the region, adding that states in the Gulf also respected Kuwait's peaceful stance.

His Highness acknowledged that some states were trying to interfere with the local matters of other nations, but hoped that Kuwait would not be subjected to a similar situation.

On his views regarding Saudi Arabia's policy, His Highness the Amir underlined the importance of relations with the Saudi neighbors, stressing that "what affects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia also affects us".

His Highness also shared views regarding Iran's influence in the region, affirming that the Iranian leadership knows the interest of Kuwait and the GCC countries was in line with their interest; therefore, he sees the situation in the region as secure.
