The Kuwaiti government has reportedly formed a security committee to urgently investigate the loss of 25 weapons from a military camp of the country's Special Forces.

The committee will conduct an investigation into the loss of 22 guns, two machine guns, and one rifle, said the Kuwaiti interior ministry in statement published by Kuwait News Agency and cited by UAE news agency WAM.

The committee was formed upon orders by Sheikh Mohammad Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, acting Prime Minister, Interior Minister, and Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs.

He ordered all concerned officers and individuals to be interrogated, and to prepare a report on findings at the end of the investigation.

The statement said that the Criminal Investigation General Administration will continue to conduct its work to look into the circumstances that led to the incident.
