Kuwait needs over 350 fuel stations

Executive Chairman and Deputy Head of the Board of Directors of Al-Sour Fuel Marketing Co. Talal Khars said Kuwait needs threefold the current number of fuel stations. He added no less than 350 stations are needed but only 128 stations are in operation at the moment, reports a local daily.

In an interview, Al-Khars noted 100 fuel stations have been approved for construction by government without private sector participation, stressing the reduction of subsidy on fuel ahs reflected negatively on the performance of the company, with 60 percent reduction in sales. He reiterated the company has since presented a comprehensive plan to develop 43 fuel stations at a cost of KD 45.9 million.
