Kuwaiti Mountaineer raises Kuwait Flag over the Everest

Another Kuwaiti mountaineer succeeded in climbing Mount Everest and raised Kuwait Flag and pictures of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

Fuad Qabazard told KUNA upon arrival home on Monday that purpose of his two-week adventure was to draw world attention to UN naming of Kuwait as "a Global Humanitarian Center." Qabazard climbed up to 5,364 meters of Mount Everest, located in the Mahalangur mountain range in the Nepal and Tibet.

Zaid Al-Refai, a Kuwaiti national, was the first Arab and Kuwaiti to climb Mount Everest and the 46th person to climb all seven highest summits in the seven continents of the world. Al-Refai is the director of the Arabian Mountaineering and Alpine Climbing Club, founded in an attempt to popularize mountain climbing among people in the Middle East.
