Kuwaiti engineer selected to present awards at int''l ceremony

The international informatics prize organization chose the Kuwaiti engineer Manar Al-Hashash to represent the organization in giving out its awards at a ceremony it held in Sri Lanka last Saturday, it was learned here today.
Al-Hashash told KUNA that it was the fifth time that she had been selected to present awards on behalf of the organization. She said she was the only Arab award-presenter among eight other presenters from around the world.
The award ceremony, which took place in the capital city of Colombo, granted Kuwait public authority for environment an award for its website portal.
The international informatics award was established in 2003 and inspired Kuwait's homegrown informatics award which is presented annually by the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Advancement.
