Labor opens door for ‘recruitments’
March 1, 2015, 8:57 am

The Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor has opened the door for employers to bring foreign work force into the country as per the actual manpower need of the local labor market with an average bank guarantee of KD 250 per year, reports Al-Anba daily quoting an official source from the Public Authority for Manpower.

The source confirmed preliminary steps have been taken in this regard, including Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Hind Al-Sabeeh’s submission of a report on the population structure of the country to the Cabinet, limiting transfer of employees within the government contracts, and allowing transfers only with the approval of the concerned employers.

The source pointed out the foreign labor need will be linked to that of the national workforce; hence, the authority will be fully ready to issue work permits soon. He also stressed the importance of tight control and inspection procedures for establishments and companies, as well as imposing harsh penalties on anyone who hires foreign workers from abroad and fails to provide them work in Kuwait.
