Mercury to eclipse 5 am Kuwait time Monday
June 14, 2015, 4:37 pm

Mercury will move behind the moon at 5 am (Kuwait local time) on Monday but the phenomenal celestial event will not be visible in Arab countries, said the Kuwaiti astronomer Adel Al-Saadoun on Sunday. He said the planet would eclipse behind the moon at 0.4 degrees northwards.

Al-Saadoun added that Aldebaran star will link up with the moon at 1 degree northwards, thus the star will be overshadowed and will not be visible in the Arab region. Eclipses are helpful to determine stars' locations, their temperature as well as for measuring mass density of surrounding atmospheres.
