The Ministry of Interior (MoI) underlined Sunday the importance of cooperation with the General Administration of Customs (GAC) to assume their joint responsibility for taking the highest level of safety and security measures and to avoid a strike by customs inspectors at the Kuwait International Airport.

In a press statement, the Ministry said taking the utmost safety and security measures is considered the first defense line to protect the country and control and prevent the entry of any banned materials or items through this vital facility or through other important land and sea inlets.

Mindful of these goals, the Ministry stressed that the Interior Ministry's General Administration of Airport Security in coordination with the GAC must make sure that customs workers, who enter the freight customs areas, must be from the categories stated in relative residency laws to help maintain the security and safety of this important facility and to avoid the entrance of any violators.
