MoI denies social media rumors
July 7, 2016, 9:57 am

The Ministry of Interior dismissed on Wednesday reports posted on some social media networks that a suspicious person bypassed security measures in the Grand Mosque earlier today.

What has been posted on these websites is untrue and inaccurate, the ministry's security media's department said in a press statement today.
It added that a security checkpoint outside the mosque suspected a person and prevented him from entering the mosque late Tuesday not Wednesday's dawn as reported. The man, who was under the influence of narcotics, was later arrested and referred to concerned bodies to take relevant legal action against him.
The ministry urged users of social media and other media outlets to depend on its reliable sources, stressing that it spares no effort to cooperate with all media outlets and social media networks so as to provide them with required data.
