April 30, 2014, 8:51 am

The National Assembly on Tuesday stroke off a grilling motion against His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah for violating constitutional procedures and National Assembly by-law.

In its regular session, the National Assembly voted overwhelmingly in favor of His Highness the Premier's demand to cancel the motion and lift it from the agenda. 39 MPs voted for, ten voted against and three abstained.

In a first reaction, His Highness Sheikh Jaber thanked MPs for their abidance by the constitution and relevant laws.

He also expressed readiness to ascend the grilling podium to answer any constitution-abided interpellation or grilling motion.
