June 10, 2015, 9:26 am

Assistant Undersecretary for Manpower Protection Affairs at the Public Authority for Manpower Baderia Al-Makimi said the authority has referred 3,936 files of companies proven to have violated Private Sector Labor Law number 6/2010 from early this year until June 4, to the General Department for Investigation at the Ministry of Interior, reports Al-Jaridah daily.

Al-Makimi confirmed the General Department of Investigation will take the necessary legal procedures against the erring companies and then refer them to the judiciary. She said 831 files were about violations of the second paragraph of the aforementioned law.

This paragraph stipulates that employers cannot recruit workers from abroad without giving them jobs or proving he does not really require their services. She said the authority also referred 745 files suspended permanently, because inspections revealed the companies do not exist and there is no need for them to recruit workers. She added 1,191 other files were referred for investigation due to violation of the Labor Inspection Law; including 1,133 which violated occupational safety and security conditions and 36 that violated workers accommodation conditions.
