The National Assembly adopted a draft amendment of the housing law and raised it to the government on Tuesday.

Some 38 lawmakers voted in favour and one abstained out of a total 39 attending a session. "The amendment gives local products a 10 percent advantage in government projects instead of the former five percent," head of the parliament's committee on financial and economic affairs Faisal Al-Shaya said.

The parliament also approved the formation of an investigation body into breaches that affected the process of handing out agricultural land in Wafra.

Lawmakers also referred the State Audit Bureau report on fraud accusations in the construction of the national Olympic football stadium to the government.
