Parliament postpones lawmakers' resignations
May 14, 2014, 8:47 am

The National Assembly has postponed looking into the resignation bids by a total of five "resigning" lawmakers in order to allow do-gooders to dissuade them from doing so, it was learned here on Tuesday.

Speaker of the Assembly Marzouq Al-Ghanim, in a press statement after today's session was over, hoped that the dissuasion efforts would succeed before the Assembly's next session on Thursday when it would have to officially examine and decide on these resignations.

Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and Acting Minister of Justice Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah Al-Sabah expressed his reservation about the resignations, hoping that the five lawmakers would be convinced by do-gooders to renounce their resignations.
