Planning Commission Chairman Dr. Montek Singh Ahluwalia to visit Kuwait with official delegation

High level Indian delegations led by Dr. Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission of India will be on an official visit to Kuwait on July 2nd and 3rd. The high level delegation includes senior officials from Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India, the Reserve Bank of India, Investment Management and the Finance Ministry, and state-owned companies will be meeting senior Kuwaiti government officials and prominent figures from the Kuwaiti community, news agencies reported quoting Kuwait embassy officials in Delhi.
According to sources, the delegation lead by Dr Montek Singh Ahluwalia includes Secretary of the Department of Economic Affairs, senior members from Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), Joint Secretary of Ministry of External Affairs, Chief General Manager of Reserve Bank of India and other senior level officials. Dr Montek Singh Ahluwalia has been a key figure in India’s economic reforms from the mid 1980s onwards.
Before leaving to Kuwait, Dr Montek Singh Ahluwalia discussed economic and trade relations between the two countries with Kuwait's Ambassador to India Sami Mohammed Al-Sulaiman.
"India looks forward to the possibility to attract Kuwaiti capital, governmental, and private investment in Kuwait, and attract Kuwaitis to India," Kuwait news Agency reported quoting statement from Kuwait Embassy in Delhi.
The delegation is scheduled to meet senior officials at Ministry of Finance, Kuwait Investment Authority and prominent Kuwaiti Business Community at Kuwait Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
