Police bust robbery gang in capital governorate

A citizen and a bedoon were arrested recently on suspicion of being responsible for 11 robberies in the capital governorate through which they managed to loot KD 130,000, said security sources.

Following a recent jewelry robbery, detectives managed to get the license number of the robbers’ escape car from surveillance cameras. On arresting the owner of the car, who was a citizen, the police found that he possessed drugs and weapons.

The first suspect confessed to robbing the jewelry and led the police to his bedoon accomplice.

Criminal Evidences Men arrested two Asians for peddling in drugs and confiscated half kilogram of heroin, a quarter kilogram of ‘shabu’ and 1500 narcotic pills from their possession. Apparently, security operatives received information about the activities of an Asian who trafficked in narcotics, and formed a team of detectives to bring him to justice.

Sources said the officers obtained warrant from the Public Prosecution to search the apartment of the suspect after verifying the information, and they found 200 grams of heroin, 50 grams of shabu and 500 grams of intoxicants during the raid.

The first suspect claimed ownership of the contraband and confessed he trafficked in narcotics. He went on to name his partner in crime, the second suspect, from whose apartment security operatives recovered 300 grams of heroin, 200 grams of shabu and 1000 narcotic pills. The suspects with the items were referred to the concerned authority.
