Public Works Minister signs major infrastructure deals

 Minister of Public Works Abdulrahman Al-Mutawa signed on Tuesday a pair of contracts dealing with the construction of a rainwater drainage network and road repairs, at a collective cost of KD 9.8 million (US$32.17 million).

The first project, worth KD one million, entails the overhaul of a rainwater drainage network in Al-Ahmadi and Mubarak Al-Kabeer governorates, where the system will be closely examined to detect any malfunctions, a statement by the Ministry of Public Works noted.

Moreover, the statement added that the second contract, which costs KD 7.8 million, involves the repair of the sixth ring road, which includes bridges and overpasses.
