The Muslim fasting month of Ramadan begins on 18 June , said the astronomer Adel Al-Saadoun on Tuesday. Al-Saadoun indicated in remarks to media that the forecast is based on astronomical calculations.
The mainly-Muslim Kuwaiti people observe fasting in Ramadan from dawn to dusk, in line with the Islamic doctrine. Eating, drinking or smoking at public places is prohibited by law. Ramadan has been falling since years during summer time.
