Security sweep leads in arrest of 169 law violators, 34 for drugs

Officers from Public Security Sector arrested 169 violators of law and 34 individuals in possession of drugs, and seized 18 vehicles during security campaigns that they launched in all six governorates of the country from June 21 to July 1.

According to a press statement issued by Ministry of Interior, officers from Hawally Security Directorate arrested 41 individuals who were either wanted by law, violated the residency law or did not hold any official identification documents, and seven individuals with drugs.

In Ahmadi Governorate, they seized 18 wanted vehicles, and arrested 21 individuals who violated the residency law or did not hold any identification documents and 9 individuals with drugs. In Farwaniya Governorate, 57 individuals who are wanted by law or had violated the residency law were arrested along with 6 individuals who were caught with drugs. Two wanted individuals and a drug dealer were arrested in Capital Governorate.

Officers from the Operations Unit arrested 48 violators of law, 11 individuals who had drugs in their possession and one individual in possession of liquor. All arrested individuals were referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against them.

The Public Security Sector affirmed that it will continue to hold security campaigns in all governorates to arrest those who violate the rules and regulations of the country in order to ensure security and peace for the citizens and expatriates in Kuwait.
